Alaska / Class D car

Alaska handbooks and study coverage

What is included, how to use it, and where the underlying guidance comes from.

How we built this practice

  • Class D car: 175 questions. Traffic signal decisions; Permits and driver responsibilities; Vehicle preparation and equipment; Speed, space and defensive driving; Lanes, turns, passing and parking; Intersections and right of way; Sharing the road; Conditions and emergencies; Illustrated road signs; Pavement markings.
  • Motorcycle: 60 questions. Preparation and control; Visibility and space; Hazards and emergencies; Groups and rider fitness; Rider licensing.
  • CDL: 104 questions. General knowledge; Air brakes; Combination vehicles; Passenger transport; Doubles and triples; Tank vehicles; Hazardous materials; School bus; Licensing and training.

Original scenarios checked September 28, 2026. Existing shared road-sign artwork keeps its original attribution and review date. Internal records keep exact source references; repeating a question on another practice page does not increase the inventory.

Alaska DMV manual index currently links the Driver Manual (October 2025), Motorcycle Manual (February 2015), and CDL Manual (July 2017 cover, with Alaska supplement). Currently linked does not mean newly published in 2026.

Current provisional-license, motorcycle licensing and CDL procedures take precedence over older administrative text. Check DMV for your own eligibility.

Practice is not the official test

Our short sets and untimed random mixes use editorial lengths and an 80% learning target. The CDL manual supports an 80% official knowledge-test threshold, but this does not verify every official test length. We do not claim a verified official motorcycle length or timer. The car practice mix is not an extracted official exam.

Coverage is finite, not every handbook exception. Rural/off-highway credentials, every vehicle-classification edge case, complete three-wheel training and practical skills certification are outside this release. Use the current manuals and qualified instruction alongside practice.

More about these sources

Independent practice, not official Alaska test questions. Common signs and driving skills are not unique Alaska rules. State licensing requirements are kept separate from shared operating guidance. Quizzes do not replace the complete manuals, current agency instructions or hands-on training.
