Selected Iowa full-license progression and hour-waiver rules: sources and limits

5 original questions with explanations and saved review. The under-18 full-license step: age and consecutive intermediate-license holding period, additional supervised practice, written consent and qualifying delays. A separate scenario applies the carried school/work hour waiver during the intermediate stage.

Read each question’s conditions carefully. Requirements can differ by age, license and vehicle use. How we built this practice.

How we built this practice

Actual Iowa DOT Full License requirements and the complete Intermediate License hour-waiver paragraph were read September 29, 2026. Their retained reader bodies were recovered October 1; no publication or update date was displayed. This is retained agency guidance, not a fresh October 1 source request or complete current-law audit.

The underlying agency paragraphs were read on September 29, 2026. Their retained text was recovered and these original questions reviewed on October 1, 2026; recovery is not a new primary-source fetch or confirmation of amendments since that earlier read. Question-level section references keep that distinction internally.

What is not covered

These selected progression decisions do not replace all application conditions or waive other age-specific traffic laws. No numeric sanction, OWI threshold, crash-reporting deadline, default speed limit or special-minor route permission is established. The hour waiver is limited to its school/work purpose.

Practice and saved mistakes

The full and shuffled views reuse the same 5 questions. Separate technical numbered sets and mixed practice selections stay unchanged. My mistakes adds this local topic to the same CAR history, without mixing other vehicles or states.
