Iowa child and teen restraints: sources and limits

2 original questions with explanations and saved review. Two short scenarios on child restraints and teenage rear-seat passengers. These supplement the existing road, licensing, crash and impairment studies without changing their practice sets.

Read each question’s conditions carefully. Requirements can differ by age, license and vehicle use. How we built this practice.

How we built this practice

Iowa Code 2026 section 321.446 and Iowa DOT manual chapter 3, printed page 35, were read October 8, 2026. The code footer is dated December 9, 2025; the review date is not a new code edition or an exhaustive later-amendment audit.

These are two original scenarios reviewed October 8, 2026 against the actual official statute and DOT chapter. The code provision is on physical pages 239–240; the manual’s printed page 35 is physical page 13. Exceptions and the available-restraint conditions were checked before integration.

What is not covered

Ordinary modern passenger cars with available restraints and no exemption. This is not a complete child-seat installation guide or a quiz on every statutory exception. Follow the restraint manufacturer’s instructions.

Practice and saved mistakes

The full and shuffled views reuse the same 2 questions. Separate technical numbered sets and mixed practice selections stay unchanged. My mistakes adds this local topic to the same CAR history, without mixing other vehicles or states.
