Class C knowledge test

Noncommercial Class C knowledge test: 25 questions. 22 correct are needed to pass. Agency passing statement: 88% or higher. Published time limit for this format: 20 minutes. 22 correct and three mistakes are derived from 25 questions and an 88% minimum. Do not substitute the 20-question Class A/B format or the 80% commercial threshold. No separate teen/adult score or score-based early-stop rule was found. How we built this practice

The 300 questions combine individually checked Maryland laws and MVA guidance with official FHWA sign illustrations, NHTSA vehicle and driver safety advice, National Weather Service guidance, and Maryland Highway Safety Office emergency guidance. Sources were reviewed September 15, 2026. Each answer includes an explanation of the rule or safety guidance. The manual is a separate reading resource; these questions do not claim coverage of every manual page.

The question set includes 25 illustrated sign questions and practical weather and emergency scenarios, but it is not exhaustive manual coverage. Federal safety recommendations are not presented as separate Maryland laws. The topic quizzes and random mixes reuse the same questions as the twelve numbered tests.
