New Mexico impairment and adult seat belts: sources and limits
5 original questions with explanations and saved review. Four alcohol, medication and administrative-versus-criminal distinctions use the New Mexico courts’ 2025 DWI educational guidance. One separate question covers MVD’s ordinary adult rear-seat belt requirement. Each scenario stays within that stated source scope.
Read each question’s conditions carefully. Requirements can differ by age, license and vehicle use. How we built this practice.
How we built this practice
The 2025 Revised Edition of the Court Education Institute’s DWI Handbook and its complete relevant passages and limitations were read October 1, 2026. Physical PDF pages are distinguished from printed pagination. MVD’s DWI and Seat Belt Law HTML guidance was also read October 1; no update date was displayed. A bounded amendment check did not establish an enacted contradiction, but was not proof of unchanged current law.

- New Mexico MVD — Seat Belt Law
The actual handbook passages and retained MVD text were directly read October 1, 2026. These original questions preserve the handbook’s timing and alcohol-consumption conditions, the distinction between impairment and a concentration offense, and separate licensing and court proceedings. The adult belt scenario assumes an ordinary equipped car with no applicable exemption. Source dates and limits remain separate from the content-review date.
What is not covered
The DWI handbook states a January 2025 information cutoff and is secondary educational guidance, not newly verified October 2026 statutory text. This set does not establish current blood-test or refusal procedures, numerical penalties, child-restraint rules, every belt exemption or complete traffic-law coverage.
Practice and saved mistakes
The full and shuffled views reuse the same 5 questions. Separate technical numbered sets and mixed practice selections stay unchanged. My mistakes adds this local topic to the same CAR history, without mixing other vehicles or states.
