  1. An experienced adult with the proper motorcycle endorsement is legally carrying an adult passenger on an appropriately equipped two-wheel motorcycle. The passenger rides a motorcycle personally. Is a pre-ride passenger briefing still useful?

Correct answer: Yes; explain how to sit, hold on, avoid unnecessary movement and communicate before this ride

Even a passenger who is a rider should receive instructions before departure. Riding experience does not replace agreement about passenger behavior and communication on this motorcycle. Legal passenger eligibility is an explicit condition, not a licensing question.

  2. A properly endorsed adult rider is legally carrying an adult passenger on a suitable two-wheel motorcycle. At an ordinary stop, what should the passenger have been instructed to do with both feet?

Correct answer: Keep both feet on the passenger footrests, as instructed

The handbook instructs passengers to keep both feet on their pegs even when stopped. Passenger foot movement can upset balance or bring feet near controls and moving parts. The scenario assumes suitable equipment and legal adult passenger operation.

  3. A properly endorsed, experienced adult rider is legally carrying an adult passenger within the motorcycle's capacity. Compared with the rider's usual solo trip, what should change when choosing a gap to enter traffic?

Correct answer: Allow a larger suitable gap for the motorcycle's changed response under the added load

A passenger's added weight changes acceleration, slowing and handling. Allow more space and a larger suitable traffic gap instead of assuming the solo response. Use the manufacturer's load and setup guidance; no fixed extra time is prescribed.

  4. A small tank bag is securely attached and within the motorcycle's load limits, but it restricts handlebar movement near full steering lock. What must be addressed before riding?

Correct answer: Reposition or remove the bag so it cannot interfere with steering or other controls

A correctly secured load must still leave the handlebars and controls free. Weight compliance does not make an obstructing bag safe, and planning to avoid some turns is not a correction.

  5. A group riding conventional two-wheel motorcycles approaches a sequence of curves. Which formation gives each rider more room to select a safe path through them?

Correct answer: A single-file formation with suitable spacing

The handbook recommends single file for curves and turns. Each rider needs a suitable following gap and room to choose a safe line; group formation does not override road conditions or individual ability.

  6. The leader of a motorcycle group completes a lawful pass. The next rider cannot yet see enough clear road to make the same pass safely. What should the next rider do?

Correct answer: Wait for a separate safe opportunity and pass one at a time

Group riders should pass individually when each has a safe opportunity. Conditions can change after the leader passes, and a leader's signal does not replace the following rider's own view and judgment.

  7. After drinking, a friend wants to ride a motorcycle home and insists that riding slowly will be enough. The group can arrange another safe way home. What is the best response?

Correct answer: Help arrange the alternative ride and leave the motorcycle safely parked

Help prevent impaired riding by arranging safe transportation rather than relying on a lower speed, an escort or the friend's confidence. This question provides no alcohol quantity, elimination timetable or test of legal sobriety.

  8. A rider planned a long day but is becoming tired after exposure to wind and cold. A safe stopping place is available before the planned destination. What should guide the decision?

Correct answer: Stop safely, rest and revise the plan rather than push on while tired

Fatigue can impair motorcycle control, and exposure to wind and cold can contribute to it. Use a safe stop and adjust the plan to the rider's condition. No fixed daily riding limit, break interval or stimulant remedy is being prescribed.
