  1. On an ordinary Oklahoma road, a motorcyclist wants to overtake moving vehicles by riding between their two same-direction traffic lanes. What applies?

Correct answer: That between-lanes passing is prohibited.

Oklahoma prohibits motorcycle drivers from passing vehicles between lanes traveling in the same direction; the statute has an authorized-emergency-vehicle exception. Do not import another state’s lane-splitting permission.

  2. An Oklahoma motorcycle rider runs out of power and proposes holding onto a moving truck for a tow. What does the motorcycle operating rule say?

Correct answer: A rider may not hold onto a moving vehicle to be propelled.

The statute prohibits this form of propulsion. Arrange safe assistance rather than holding a moving vehicle; driver agreement or a low speed does not create an exception.

  3. A rider brings an uninsured motorcycle for an Oklahoma motorcycle drive test. Does testing create an exception to the insurance requirement?

Correct answer: No; valid motorcycle liability insurance is required, including for the drive test.

Service Oklahoma requires motorcycle liability insurance for operation and specifically for the motorcycle driving test. A training certificate does not insure the vehicle.

  4. An applicant completes only an online motorcycle video course and wants to use it as Oklahoma’s approved MSF qualifying course. What should the applicant understand?

Correct answer: The qualifying course includes in-person motorcycle training; an online-only substitute is not enough.

Service Oklahoma says the qualifying MSF courses cannot be completed entirely online because they include in-person riding instruction. A study course or quiz is not the same as completing the approved rider course.
