  1. A 25-year-old holds only a motorcycle learner's permit. May age alone excuse helmet use while operating a conventional motorcycle?

Correct answer: No; PennDOT requires motorcycle permit holders to wear helmets

The permit-holder rule is not an age-only exemption.

  2. A rider is exactly 21 and has held a motorcycle license for two full calendar years. Under Pennsylvania's statute, is this rider within the experience-based helmet exemption?

    Correct answer: Yes

Section 3525(d)(2) includes age 21 and requires two full calendar years of motorcycle licensing.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3525(d)(2) ↗

  3. A licensed rider age 22 has less than two years of motorcycle licensing but completed a rider safety course approved by PennDOT or MSF. Can the course satisfy the statutory helmet exemption?

Correct answer: Yes; approved training is an alternative qualifying route

The approved-course exception separately applies to riders 21 or older.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3525(d)(3) ↗

  4. A passenger is age 21 and rides with an operator who qualifies for a statutory helmet exemption. Is the passenger within the passenger helmet exemption?

    Correct answer: Yes

The passenger exemption requires age 21 or older and an exempt operator.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3525(d)(4) ↗

  5. A rider qualifies for a helmet exemption and operates an ordinary open two-wheel motorcycle. Does that exemption remove the eye-protection requirement?

    Correct answer: No

The helmet exceptions do not remove the separate eye-device requirement.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3525(b), (d) ↗

  6. Which vehicle configuration is expressly excepted from both helmet and eye-protection requirements in Section 3525?

Correct answer: A three-wheeled motorcycle equipped with an enclosed cab

The statute specifies an enclosed-cab three-wheeler, not every windshield or three-wheel vehicle.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3525(b), (d)(1) ↗

  7. A car driver says a motorcycle must share its lane because it is narrow. What is the motorcycle's legal entitlement?

Correct answer: Full use of a lane

A motor vehicle may not deprive a motorcycle of full lane use.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3523(a) ↗

  8. May an ordinary civilian motorcyclist overtake a car within the same lane occupied by that car?

    Correct answer: No

The same-lane passing prohibition has a police-duty exception, not a general narrow-vehicle exception.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3523(b), (f) ↗

  9. May an ordinary civilian motorcyclist travel between adjacent rows of stopped traffic?

    Correct answer: No

The prohibition covers travel between lanes or adjacent vehicle rows; police performing official duties have a specified exception.

    Source: 75 Pa.C.S. §3523(c), (f) ↗

  10. What is Pennsylvania's maximum number of motorcycles allowed abreast in a single lane?

    Correct answer: Two

Two is the statutory maximum, not a safety recommendation. The rider manual advises against riding directly alongside another rider.

  11. A motorcycle has a windshield. What should the rider still use to protect the eyes from wind and debris?

Correct answer: A securely fitted faceshield or goggles

A windshield is not a substitute for a faceshield or goggles. Ordinary glasses may leave the eyes exposed to wind and can blow off when the rider turns their head.

  12. Daylight is fading and little light is available. What should you do about a tinted visor or goggles?

Correct answer: Use clear eye protection rather than tinted protection

Tinted eye protection reduces the light reaching your eyes. Use suitable clear protection at night or in other low-light conditions.
