  1. You have room for another bag, but adding it would exceed the motorcycle’s gross vehicle weight rating. What should you do?

Correct answer: Reduce the load to stay within the manufacturer’s rating.

The weight rating still applies when a bag physically fits. Count the total relevant load and do not treat secure straps as permission to exceed the motorcycle’s capacity.

  2. After securing a tank bag, what must you check before riding?

Correct answer: It does not block instruments, steering, cables or brake lines.

A secure bag can still be unsafe if it interferes with controls or steering. Repack or reposition it to maintain the required clearance and view.

  3. Before beginning a long loaded trip, what is a useful way to learn how the motorcycle now behaves?

Correct answer: Take a cautious familiar-route test ride and check handling and clearance.

A loaded motorcycle may accelerate more slowly and need different braking and clearance allowances. A controlled familiar-route check helps reveal problems before the longer journey.
