Rhode Island adult temporary-permit rules: sources and limits
3 original questions with explanations and saved review. Ordinary adult temporary-permit driving authority, the minimum road-test holding period and possession of the permit while driving.
Read each question’s conditions carefully. Requirements can differ by age, license and vehicle use. How we built this practice.
How we built this practice
The complete published section 31-10-7, the under-18 scheme, supervising-driver definition and restricted-license provisions were read October 1, 2026. Section 31-10-7 records amendments effective June 6, 2025. The DMV adult-solo interpretation was read September 29 from a page displaying an August 21, 2026 update; its retained text was recovered October 1.

- Rhode Island DMV — New License Permits, adult section
The actual operative statutory clauses were directly read, and these original questions independently reviewed October 1, 2026. The agency paragraph was recovered, not freshly requested. This does not establish every administrative condition or a complete 2026 amendment audit.
What is not covered
These questions concern a valid ordinary adult car permit with no contrary individual restriction. They do not apply to under-18 graduated permits, motorcycle or CDL learning, guarantee issuance or a road-test appointment, or waive other driving laws.
Practice and saved mistakes
The full and shuffled views reuse the same 3 questions. Separate technical numbered sets and mixed practice selections stay unchanged. My mistakes adds this local topic to the same CAR history, without mixing other vehicles or states.
