Rhode Island collision responsibilities: sources and limits

6 original questions with explanations and saved review. Stopping, requested information, reasonable assistance, immediate police notification, unattended-vehicle notice and the separate written injury report.

Read each question’s conditions carefully. Requirements can differ by age, license and vehicle use. How we built this practice.

How we built this practice

Complete selected published Chapter26 clauses, cross-references, incapacity context and displayed histories were read October 1, 2026. Their individual histories remain intact internally rather than being relabeled as new enactments. This is selected statutory guidance, not a complete 2026 session-amendment or insurance-procedure audit.

The actual operative legislative HTML was directly read, and all six original questions independently reviewed October 1, 2026. Immediate police notice and the separate written DMV report are not interchangeable; unattended-vehicle written notice does not replace the police call. HTML reader lines are not PDF pages.

What is not covered

The written-report scenario uses an uninjured driver able to report an injury to someone else. Property-only dollar thresholds, incapacity substitutions, specialized animal or bicycle provisions and numerical penalties are not scored. Reasonable assistance is not a direction to attempt medical procedures beyond your abilities.

Practice and saved mistakes

The full and shuffled views reuse the same 6 questions. Separate technical numbered sets and mixed practice selections stay unchanged. My mistakes adds this local topic to the same CAR history, without mixing other vehicles or states.

Keep the scenario’s conditions in mind
