Road warnings

No Outlet sign

What does it mean?

NO OUTLET warns that the road or road network ahead has no other exit. It may include several streets, but they do not provide a through route out of that area; the warning does not by itself prohibit entering.

What to do when you see it

  1. Choose another route if you need to continue through to a different road.
  2. If your destination is within the area, enter only as other signs and road rules permit.
  3. Expect to return by the same entrance rather than finding an alternate exit ahead.

How to recognize it

  • Yellow diamond with a black border.
  • Black NO OUTLET wording.

On the road

A navigation shortcut leads toward a subdivision marked NO OUTLET. Since you need a through route, continue to a different public road instead of assuming one of the internal streets reaches the next highway.

Don’t confuse it with

Red circle with a horizontal white bar and white lettering.

Do Not Enter sign

DO NOT ENTER prohibits entry from the approach it faces; NO OUTLET warns that the road network does not lead through to another exit.
