No Right Turn sign
What does it mean?
The red circle and slash prohibit the right turn shown by the arrow. The sign restricts that movement at the controlled location; it is not simply advice to slow down before turning.
What to do when you see it
- Use a permitted movement instead of turning right.
- Check supplemental times and vehicle exceptions, if present.
- Continue to a safe legal route if you cannot make your intended turn.
How to recognize it
- Black arrow with a right-angle bend to the right.
- Red circle and diagonal slash.
- White square with a black border.
On the road
The traffic signal turns green, but a No Right Turn sign still faces your approach. Follow a legal movement instead of assuming green cancels the sign.
Don’t confuse it with

Keep Right sign
KEEP RIGHT directs you past the right side of an obstruction; it has no red prohibition slash.
Right turn sign
A yellow turn warning describes the road ahead, while this white sign prohibits the movement.
