  1. You may legally carry a passenger, but the person cannot reach the motorcycle's passenger footrests. What should you do?

Correct answer: Do not carry that person on this setup; the passenger needs proper supported footing.

The manual says the passenger should be able to reach the passenger footrests and hold securely. Proper seating, protection and preparation are needed; riding in front can interfere with control.

  2. A full tank bag restricts movement of the handlebars. The total load is below the motorcycle's weight rating. Is that enough to make the load acceptable?

Correct answer: No; repack or reposition it so steering, controls and instruments remain unobstructed.

A load can be within the weight limit and still interfere with safe operation. Tank bags must not obstruct the controls or instruments, catch cables, or restrict steering.
