  1. A Nebraska P-endorsed CLP holder has the required supervisor aboard. May the learner drive a regular bus route carrying ordinary fare-paying commuters?

Correct answer: No. Ordinary service passengers are not within the CLP passenger exception.

The passenger CLP permits the specified training, testing and oversight occupants, not ordinary service passengers. A supervising CDL holder does not turn the CLP into unrestricted passenger-service authority.

  2. A Nebraska CDL applicant is planning for the three skills-test segments. In what order must they be completed?

Correct answer: Vehicle inspection, basic vehicle-control skills, then the road test.

Nebraska requires the three skills-test segments to be completed sequentially: inspection first, basic controls second, and road testing last.

  3. A Nebraska learner passed two skills-test segments, but the CLP expired before the third was passed. What happens to those earlier passing results?

Correct answer: They become invalid, and all three skills-test segments must be retaken.

Nebraska explicitly requires all skills testing to be retaken if the CLP expires before all three segments have been passed. Partial passing results do not survive that permit expiry.

Source: Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, General Information - CLP expiry before all skills segments are passed; current official source reviewed September 29, 2026. ↗

  4. A first-time Nebraska Class A applicant is subject to ELDT and asks to schedule a skills test, but the required training cannot yet be verified in the Training Provider Registry. What is the DMV’s stated scheduling rule?

Correct answer: The appointment cannot be scheduled until the required training can be verified.

For an applicant who is not grandfathered from ELDT, Nebraska checks the Training Provider Registry before scheduling. A negative response or unavailable registry prevents scheduling; knowledge-test success alone is not a substitute.
