  1. You hold a CLP for an otherwise lawful truck-training trip on a public road. Which supervision arrangement meets the federal rule?

Correct answer: A trip-authorized driver with the proper CDL and endorsements sits beside you and directly supervises throughout.

The truck supervisor must hold a valid CDL for the proper vehicle group and endorsements, be authorized for that trip, and remain physically in the front seat next to the learner, observing and directly supervising. For a passenger vehicle, the rule permits the specified position directly behind or in the first row behind the driver. Correct supervision does not replace the other CLP conditions.
