  1. A fire extinguisher is present in the bus. What additional inspection establishes more than its mere presence?

Correct answer: Check that it is properly charged and held securely in its mounting bracket.

The equipment inspection checks both extinguisher charge and secure bracket mounting. Having a cylinder somewhere in the bus does not establish readiness.

  2. A bus fire extinguisher was discharged only briefly. What should happen before it is relied on again?

Correct answer: Have it recharged or replaced immediately, even though the discharge was brief.

The equipment guidance calls for immediate recharging or replacement after any discharge. A short use can leave an extinguisher unfit to rely on during the next emergency.
