  1. After stopping at the required line, parked vehicles still block your view of cross traffic. What is the careful next step?

Correct answer: Edge forward to another stop where you can see, keeping the front wheel out of cross traffic.

Make the required stop first. Then gain a view without occupying the cross-traffic lane and proceed only after establishing a safe opening.

  2. You approach occupied cars parked at the right curb. How should you plan your motorcycle's space?

Correct answer: Allow room for doors or a pullout while also accounting for oncoming traffic.

Doors, pedestrians and cars pulling from the curb can enter your path. Select speed and a lane position that leave room, without creating a conflict with oncoming vehicles.

  3. You will slow for a driveway where following traffic may not expect it. If time and conditions permit, what helps communicate that slowdown?

Correct answer: Flash the brake light before the main reduction in speed.

An early brake-light warning can help others notice an unexpected slowdown. It supplements signaling, observation and a controlled reduction in speed; it is not abrupt brake-checking.

  4. On a straight road suitable for staggered group riding, the leader uses the left part of the lane. Where does the handbook place the next two riders?

Correct answer: The second rider back in the right track and the third farther back in the left track, with adequate space.

The staggered layout alternates left and right positions while preserving space ahead, behind and beside each rider. It is not side-by-side riding. Maintain a suitable following cushion and move to single file when conditions call for it.

  5. On a clear day, a rider thinks the headlight is unnecessary because the road is easy to see. What safety purpose does the manual give for keeping it on?

Correct answer: It helps other road users notice the motorcycle.

The daytime benefit is conspicuity: helping others detect the smaller motorcycle. This is riding advice, not a claim that a headlight guarantees recognition or right-of-way.
