Rhode Island CDL learner supervision: sources and limits
3 original questions with explanations and saved review. No solo CLP practice, the accompanying driver’s matching commercial authority and physical position for direct supervision.
Read each question’s conditions carefully. Requirements can differ by age, license and vehicle use. How we built this practice.
How we built this practice
The complete published Rhode Island section 31-10.3-30 was read October 1, 2026; its displayed history ends in 2019. The complete federal 49 CFR 383.25(a)(1) and context were actually read September 29 and recovered October 1. That retained eCFR display listed title49 as current September 25, 2026, not a new October1 check or a section amendment date.
- Rhode Island Legislature — section 31-10.3-30, commercial driving authority
- eCFR — 49 CFR 383.25, commercial learner supervision
The actual state clause and retained federal text were directly read, and all three original questions independently reviewed October 1, 2026. Proper CDL group, endorsements, trip authorization, observation and direct supervision remain required. HTML reader-line locations are not PDF pages.
What is not covered
Other learner, vehicle and trip requirements are assumed satisfied. The passenger-vehicle seating alternative is preserved; this is not passenger-carrying permission, a permit term, training waiver or complete CLP application checklist.
Practice and saved mistakes
The full and shuffled views reuse the same 3 questions. Separate technical numbered sets and mixed practice selections stay unchanged. My mistakes adds this local topic to the same CDL history, without mixing other vehicles or states.
