Curve left
What does it mean?
The road curves to the left ahead. It warns about the road's alignment, so it does not direct you to turn onto a different street at an intersection.
What to do when you see it
- Adjust speed before entering the curve.
- Read any advisory-speed plaque and allow for weather and visibility.
- Stay within your lane through the bend.
How to recognize it
- Yellow diamond with a single black arrow.
- The arrow bends smoothly to the left.
On the road
The warning appears before a tree-lined bend that hides the road ahead. You ease off speed before entering and follow your lane around the left curve.
Don’t confuse it with

Sharp turn left
The Turn sign has a sharply bent arrow and warns of a sharper change of alignment.

Winding road
Winding Road shows several bends rather than one curve.
