Divided Highway Ahead Sign
What does it mean?
The road ahead separates opposing traffic with a median or another physical barrier. The symbol describes the road layout ahead, while signs and markings at the divider show the lane you must follow.
What to do when you see it
- Follow your marked lane onto the correct side of the divider.
- Watch for Keep Right or other directions at the median.
- Keep a steady path rather than making a last-moment lane change.
How to recognize it
- Yellow diamond with arrows pointing in opposite directions.
- The black divider appears near the top of the symbol.
On the road
A two-way road widens as a raised median starts ahead. You follow the right-hand roadway and the lane markings around the beginning of the divider.
Don’t confuse it with
