How we built this practice
16 Tennessee licensing scenarios and 176 shared commercial-safety scenarios form the 192-question general question set. A separate 396 questions cover vehicle specialists, Tennessee school-transport requirements, hazardous materials, and inspection/skills model examples. Twelve general tests and twenty-six specialist tests reuse these 588 records; random practice tests are not additional questions.
Shared scenarios retain their actual references: the Colorado DMV-linked CDL manual, federal operating and equipment rules, and the Federal Railroad Administration. General guidance is not relabeled as Tennessee law.
Coverage and training limits
Reviewed September 14, 2026: Tennessee licensing, training and school-transport sources, plus our existing common-safety questions with their retained source review. The Tennessee PDF review includes opening material and text from Sections 11–13: inspection, basic control and road driving. This is not an entire-manual or diagram audit. Each shared question retains its actual source pages.
The four specialist question sets retain their Section 5–8 handbook and federal-rule sources. Examples for a particular brake system or coupling are not universal Tennessee test instructions. Tank classification does not confer hazardous-materials authorization, and a multiple-trailer endorsement does not authorize every configuration or route.
Passenger and school-bus safety questions retain their Section 4 and Section 10 handbook references and cited federal rules. Colorado-specific school rules are excluded. Passenger buses designed for standees and school buses have different operating requirements; do not transfer an exception between them.
HazMat practice keeps its Chapter 9 and current federal-rule references and their exceptions. Tennessee’s HME page describes TSA assessment before its endorsement vision and knowledge tests. Applicable first-time H applicants also need registered ELDT. A quiz result satisfies none of those requirements.
Tennessee’s linked PDF labels its basic-control section as the 2005 testing system, with July 2017 section dates. The complete basic-control study set now follows that published model and Tennessee’s licensing prerequisites, not modernized Section 12M. Read Tennessee’s basic-control section and confirm your examiner’s current arrangements; a linked older PDF does not establish every current test procedure.
Within the 80 skills-study questions, 21 use Tennessee sources and 59 shared inspection or road scenarios retain their real Colorado handbook references. Replaced model questions have new identifiers; previous attempts are historical records, not evidence of answering the revised questions. Old pressure values and ambiguous warning-device lists were not imported from the Tennessee PDF.
The thirteen Tennessee school-transport questions use agency pages, the July 2025 eligibility form and currently linked Spring 2024 FAQs and January 2019 safety tips. Older guidance is dated explicitly and is not relabeled as new legislation. Local procedures and additional requirements still apply.
Complete state-specific endorsement preparation is not included yet. This is not comprehensive handbook coverage, an official exam question set, registered ELDT, medical qualification advice or practical skills certification.
The 12-, 13-, 16- and 20-question practice tests are our study formats. We have not established an official Tennessee CDL exam length, passing score or time limit for this release. Follow the licensing agency's current testing instructions.
