Utah guidance checked September 29, 2026. Shared recognition retains its own dates and lawful artwork credits. Exact provenance remains in internal records. Numbered tests, topics and mixes reuse the same questions; repeated appearances do not increase the inventory.

The current Utah DLD catalog links the 2026–2027 Driver Handbook, 115 physical pages; printed page 1 is PDF page 11. First-time driver knowledge test: 50 questions. 40 correct are needed to pass. Agency passing statement: At least 80% is required to pass. 40 correct and ten mistakes are derived from 50 questions and the published 80% threshold. The handbook explicitly says the test is not timed. Its 30-45 minute typical duration is not a time limit. New drivers of all ages take the 50-question closed-book version. The 25-question open-book version is for previously licensed applicants, not the adult-first-time learner exam. Preferred-language eligibility and division-approved interpreters are described by DLD; its list labels Ukrainian as 'Ukraine'. The separate Traffic Safety and Trends exam has its own requirements; it is not the learner knowledge test. Our short study sets reproduce neither official practice questions. Current May 6, 2026 roundabout and parent-supervision changes are included. Disputed age-17 night restrictions and clean-fuel lane eligibility are not asserted.

The catalog-linked Motorcycle Handbook has 96 physical pages, a Utah supplement and MSF 18th Edition material revised June 2020. The filename is not a claim that every rule dates from 2024. This question set covers two-wheel riding, not three-wheel handling. Current permit conditions, course/skills-waiver distinctions, under-21 helmets and qualified lane filtering are kept separate from riding advice. A course waiver is not an issued endorsement and does not waive the knowledge test.

The catalog-linked CDL Manual is internally labeled 2025 Edition / Version March 2025, with 171 physical pages; the 2026 filename is not its edition. Current examiner electronic medical certification, a 180-day CLP, the 14-day skills-test hold and ELDT are distinct requirements. Utah's under-21 EA self-certification category still requires a valid medical card and K restriction. Endorsement and equipment restrictions remain separate from the license class.

Practice settings and limits

Numbered sets and fresh mixes are untimed, generally 20 questions or fewer, with an editorial 80% study target. These short sessions are not the official Utah exam format or a passing prediction. CDL mixed practice covers general knowledge only; select the relevant endorsements separately.

This finite English release covers core Class D car, two-wheel motorcycle and applicable CDL knowledge families with selected current requirements. It is not every administrative exception, every possible exam question, translated parity or practical-driving certification. Use the complete manuals and qualified instruction, and confirm application requirements with Utah DLD before testing.
