Your Wyoming study guide

Use this Wyoming permit practice guide to choose a starting point and compare the available study formats. Its leading topic groups are licensing & laws, signs & signals and speed, space & following distance; these describe this practice selection, not the agency’s published test weighting. Read each situation before choosing an answer, then use the explanation and source link to understand the rule behind it. When an answer surprises you, return to that part of the handbook rather than memorizing the position of the correct choice. Review your missed questions before starting another test. These independent exercises support handbook study; they are not the licensing examination or a guarantee of passing.

When can I get a regular Wyoming learner permit?

Wyoming's regular learner-permit route starts at 15 and is also available to older people who are learning to drive. Do not confuse it with the separate restricted-permit program for younger hardship applicants. Applicants under 18 need the required parent or guardian signature.

Can I complete Wyoming's first learner-permit process entirely online?

No. You may begin an application online, but a first learner permit still requires a visit to a Wyoming driver exam office. Bring the required documents and complete the photograph, written knowledge test and vision screening. Starting an online application does not issue driving privileges.
