Practice mode
Question 1 of 10Uncontrolled intersection tie
  1. 1. You and a car on your right reach an intersection at the same time. Neither road has stop signs, yield signs, or traffic signals. Both drivers intend to go straight. Who must yield?
  2. 2. An ambulance approaches from behind with flashing emergency lights and its siren sounding. You are clear of intersections, the right shoulder is safe to use, and no officer directs otherwise. What should you do?
  3. 3. You stopped behind a school bus unloading children. Its warning lights go off and the stop arm folds in, but a child is still crossing the road ahead of you. What should you do?
  4. 4. Your entry lane joins moving traffic without a stop control. There is a usable gap behind one car, while the space beside you is occupied. What is the best way to merge?
  5. 5. There is no no-U-turn sign, but you are near a hilltop where drivers approaching from the other side cannot see your car. May you make a U-turn there?
  6. 6. If you must continue through fog, which headlight setting generally gives the better view of the road?
  7. 7. Your right wheels drop onto the shoulder, and there is room ahead to regain control. What should you avoid doing?
  8. 8. You are following traffic as weather and visibility deteriorate. How should your following gap compare with the one used in good conditions?
  9. 9. A motorcycle ahead changes position within its lane near rough pavement. How should you interpret that movement?
  10. 10. After seeing this sign, which road layout should you prepare for?Yellow diamond with a black arrow following several alternating bends.

Study & prepare

Your Georgia study guide

Use this Georgia permit practice guide to choose a starting point and compare the available study formats. Its leading topic groups are signs & signals, licensing & laws and right-of-way & intersections; these describe this practice selection, not the agency’s published test weighting. Read each situation before choosing an answer, then use the explanation and source link to understand the rule behind it. When an answer surprises you, return to that part of the handbook rather than memorizing the position of the correct choice. Review your missed questions before starting another test. These independent exercises support handbook study; they are not the licensing examination or a guarantee of passing.
